Creating
places where our stories can emerge,
and where people can experience art
in their daily lives.
In 2000, District and City of North
Vancouver Councils adopted a Public
Art Program that seeks to celebrate
and stimulate the cultural spirit
and identity of the community through
the creation of art in public places.
Through municipal, community and
private development commissions public
art works are integrated into new
buildings, streets and other infrastructure
projects, parks and public spaces.
The Program encourages a wide range
of creative expression and artistic
practice, from single artist commissions
to collaborations with community groups
and development design teams.
